














Handmade Louis XVI style petit point carpet in the Aubusson Savonnerie style. These type rug have a decisive difference to hand-knotted rugs – they are hand-woven. Wool has proven itself as a natural and extremely durable material over the centuries. It has, among other things, dirt-repellent and thermal insulation properties. At the same time, wool is incomparably soft and has a natural shine. Aubusson tapestry is a centuries-old tradition, which consists of weaving using processes pioneered by artisans from Aubusson and a few localities in Creuse in France. With six centuries of history – from the « vertegrettes » of the 15th century, then the Royal Factory of 1665, a flourishing early 20th century, the interwar crisis and its revival thanks to the arrival of Jean Lurçat in 1939 – it produces particularly large-scale hangings that are intended to embellish walls, carpets and pieces of furniture. This rug has beautifull floral pattern, color wise base looks like very light green/grey shade. Has tasles, but you could add some lovely trimming with antique trimming thing so it’s not spoiling it’s age. Of course it needs to be cleaned at proffessional cleaners as has some marks. Not notice visible holes looks in pretty great condition for its age. These modern days it can be used as bed cover once cleaned, rug or wall rug also as Tablecloth to give chic for interior.
